ABOUT ME

About Mark Dobbs

Hi and welcome to my website.  I became serious about taking photographs in my early 20’s and studied in the Photo Arts department of Ryerson University in Toronto.  I worked for a short time in a portrait studio in Yorkville but quickly learned that portrait and wedding work was not a good fit for me.  I have since focused (literally) on landscape photography.

I made my first photography trip to the Southwest in 1993 and immediately fell in love with the spectacular light in this part of the world.  I have returned at every opportunity to continue my exploration of the endless beauty.  You will see that many of my gallery pages are from this area.  I have only included photos in the galleries from 2008 on.  This is when I switched to digital format.

All photos are touched in Lightroom and/or Photoshop to clarify my memory of the location but I do not change the basic image by adding a different sky or other elements.  If you see it in a photo it was there when I took the photo.

I hope you enjoy my work presented here.
